One person answers this, so a reply may take a couple of days. It helps to say which iPhone and which iOS version, and — if something looks wrong on screen — what you expected to see instead.
Requirements
iOS 18 or later. Vesper works entirely offline except for searching a bar by name, which needs a connection to reach the map provider.
Why a drink at 1 a.m. is on yesterday's row
A night runs until 5 a.m., not until midnight. A Negroni at 1:30 belongs to the night that started the evening before — bucketing by calendar date would cut every real night in half and report twice as many nights out as you had. 5 rather than 4, because last call in New York is 4 a.m. and Shanghai bars run past it.
Why a bar can be missing from the city count
A bar typed in by hand has no city unless the map recognised the name, and Vesper never guesses one from a coordinate. A bar like that still counts under Bars — you went there — but it cannot count toward cities or countries, because there is nothing recorded to count.
Why prices are never added up across currencies
A drink bought in yuan stays in yuan. Converting it would mean picking an exchange rate, and a rate is a fact about a particular Tuesday — it would quietly rewrite what last spring cost you every time the market moved. So each night shows one figure per currency, side by side.
Where the flavour readings come from
Every ingredient carries a strength, sweetness, acidity, bitterness and aroma value. A drink's profile is the volume-weighted blend of what was in the glass, diluted by how it was made. It is a model, not a measurement — garnish is recorded but not modelled, and a grapefruit twist changes a drink's aroma more than the model can represent.
Who answers bar searches
Apple Maps worldwide, and 高德地图 (Amap) inside mainland China — each search is routed by where it happens, because each provider knows its own ground best. What you type goes to that provider and to nobody else.
Getting your data out, or deleting it
Settings → Export gives you a single archive: a JSON file with everything, a CSV for any spreadsheet, and your photos. Settings → Erase deletes all of it, locally and at once. There is no server, so there is no account to close and no copy elsewhere to request.
What Vesper will not do
It will never send you a notification encouraging you to drink. Streaks and star levels are shown when you open the app and are never pushed. There is no social feed, no leaderboard, and no recommendation drawn from anyone's log but your own.

一个「夜晚」到凌晨 5 点才结束，而不是到午夜。1:30 的一杯尼格罗尼属于前一晚开始的那个夜—— 按自然日切会把每一个真实的夜晚拦腰砍断，把你出去的次数算成两倍。 取 5 点而不是 4 点，是因为纽约的最后一轮是 4 点，而上海的酒吧还开着。
为什么有的酒吧不计入城市数
手动输入的酒吧，除非地图认得这个名字，否则没有城市信息，而 Vesper 绝不从坐标去猜一个。 这样的酒吧仍然计入「酒吧」——你确实去过——但它不能计入城市或国家，因为压根没有可数的东西被记下来。
为什么价格从不跨币种相加
用人民币买的酒就留在人民币里。要换算就得挑一个汇率，而汇率是关于某个特定星期二的事实—— 市场一动，它就会悄悄改写你去年春天到底花了多少。所以每个夜晚按币种各显示一个数字，并排放着。
风味读数是怎么来的
每一种配料都带有酒力、甜、酸、苦、香五个值。一杯酒的画像是杯中之物按体积加权的混合， 再按制作方式稀释。它是模型，不是测量——装饰会被记录但不进模型， 而一片西柚皮对香气的改变，超出了这个模型能表达的范围。
酒吧搜索是谁在答
全球用 Apple 地图，中国大陆境内用高德地图——每一次搜索按它发生的地点决定走哪一家， 因为各家最熟的是自己脚下这片地。你输入的字只发给那一家服务商，不发给任何别人。
把数据带走，或者删掉
「设置 → 导出」给你一个压缩包：一份包含全部内容的 JSON、一份任何表格软件都能打开的 CSV， 还有你的照片。「设置 → 清除」会在本地一次性删掉全部。没有服务器，所以没有账号要注销， 也没有别处的副本可以申请。
Vesper 不会做的事
它永远不会推送通知劝你喝酒。连续天数和星级只在你打开 app 时显示，从不推送。 没有社交流，没有排行榜，也没有任何来自别人记录的推荐。
